Overview

HaruTabi ("the App") is a Japan travel check-in app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Data We Collect

• Location Data: GPS coordinates are used solely to determine your proximity to check-in spots. Location data is processed on-device and not shared with third parties.
• Account Information: If you sign in (via Email, Google, or Apple), we store your email address and display name to enable cloud sync.
• Check-in Records: Your visit history (locations visited, timestamps, visit types) is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to Firebase Firestore for cross-device access.
• Advertising Identifiers: With your permission, Google AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to serve and measure ads. You may disable or reset this identifier at any time in your device settings.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide GPS-based check-in functionality
• To sync your travel records across devices
• To display your collection progress
• To show in-app advertisements and measure their performance

Advertising

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following data for advertising purposes:

• Device advertising identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID)
• Device information (model, OS version, language)
• Approximate location (derived from IP address)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

On iOS 14.5 and later, the App presents the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt the first time it runs. If you deny tracking, AdMob will not access your IDFA and will only show non-personalized ads. You can change this choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication: For user sign-in
• Firebase Firestore: For cloud data sync
• Google AdMob: For in-app advertising (see Advertising section above)
• Booking.com: Hotel recommendation links (affiliate)

These services have their own privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required to operate the services listed above.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data by signing out and contacting us at harutabi.app@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
